There are a number of stories in the bible that offer us a rhythm for life. The story of Jacob’s Well is one such story:
Jesus comes upon a Samaritan woman who is retrieving water from the well. As she goes about her normal, everyday practice of getting water for her family and community, Jesus engages her in a conversation. Even though the cultural practices of the time would dictate that it was inappropriate for a Jewish man to talk to a Samaritan woman, Jesus demonstrated the principle of loving all people by engaging in conversation with her.
This story helps to guide and shape us. Jesus’ interaction with the woman at the well opens us up to a number of elements that help us to understand what it means to be a follower of Jesus.
While the youth gather, the rest of us hang out in the coffee house and talk about what ever may be on our minds. Do you have questions for the pastor? What are your thoughts on religion vs. spirituality? Have you read any thought provoking books you would like to discuss? Do you have questions about heaven? God? How to be a follower of Jesus? Specific Religious beliefs? Come and have conversations with others in an safe, welcoming, non-judgmental environment. Table Talk is on Wednesdays from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

Didache Groups, otherwise known as Small Groups are groups of 5 – 7 people that meet for the purpose of asking the question, “how is it with your soul?” These are groups that make a commitment to one another to meet once a week, to share in confidence, and to encourage and hold one another accountable as we each walk in our own faith journey. While each individual group develops a different feel, the basic premise is to support one another in the quest to do no harm, do good, love God and love people. While some small groups meet on Wednesdays between 6:30 and 8:00, this is not the only time small groups meet. Each group sets their own time and day. Some small groups are for men only, some for women only, and some are for couples. For more information about finding a small group, contact Mark Calhoun or Lynn Sherick.
